Inclusion Check-In Survey for Clubs

Home » Inclusion Check-In Survey for Clubs

This multiple choice survey has been designed to support you and your club. It will help you to understand where there are opportunities to increase choice for people with disability to be included in every aspect of your club.

To gain a broad picture of how inclusive your club is currently, we recommend several people from your club fill out the survey. This could include coaches, players, supporters, club staff and volunteers.

The survey has been designed incorporating work from Simplican et al’.s (2015) model of inclusion and Corazzo, M., & Dyer, J., A New Model for Inclusive Sports? An Evaluation of Participants Experience of Mixed Ability Rugby. Social Inclusion, 2017, Volume 5, Issue 2, Pages 130-140.

Definitions:

  • Participation – playing, administration/staff, coaching, supporter
  • Accessibility – Making a product, service, information or environment available to as many people as possible.
  • Disability – The interaction between attitudinal and environmental barriers that hinder a person with impairments’ ability to reach their full potential and participate effectively in society on an equal basis with others.
  • Inclusion – Inclusion is a club effort and practices in which different groups or individuals having different backgrounds are culturally and socially accepted and welcomed, and equally treated.

Sport4All is a funded program and participation includes a small number of short progress check-ins across the year. These form part of our funded delivery and reporting requirements and help us understand how inclusion is developing within your club or school. Your responses support continuous program improvement and enable us to demonstrate the impact of inclusive sport nationally.

“Inclusive sport matters to me because there is no I in team and everyone is included. Inclusive sport looks like one big happy family all together. I love sport because it keeps me fit and active, and I feel part of a team”
