Research has now shown the effect of physical activity on how long we live as well as the importance of staying socially connected is to our overall well-being. The Active Aging Hub is a community group where age is not a limitation, which offers the opportunity for challenging sporting activities, as well as the essential social interaction to develop new friendships and protect mental health. We offer 8 sessions of tennis per week, 5 sessions of Pickleball, Dancing, and other Social activities such as walks and Trivia nights. Our tennis sessions are held at the Toowong School Tennis Courts and the Rainworth School Courts. Pickleball is played at Albion Sports Centre, The Gap Tennis Centre and UQ Tennis Centre. Dancing is held at the Paddington Hall.

We have had members with Alzheimer’s and kept them on the tennis courts for years after coming down with the disease.
